I was invited to a birthday party. A 90th birthday party, to be precise, for my two dear friends, Andrew Hessel, fifty, and Hani Hong, forty. But this was no ordinary party. Hani and her siblings had never returned to Vietnam as a family since the fall of Saigon--so this was to be an epic reunion. I brought my mother and sister with me for an adventure that was not only a journey of a lifetime, but a joining of families. The Kongs got Hong'ed.
